Wildlife Care Center Brings the Community Together for Baby Shower

The wildlife care center at Lake Tahoe is gearing up for its busiest and most critical season, with a 30 percent increase in wildlife patients expected in 2025. As the seasons change, hundreds of orphaned and injured animals, including baby squirrels, raccoons, owls, hawks, fawns, and more, will be admitted to the hospital for care. To raise funds and supplies for this vital work, the center is hosting its first-ever Born to Be Wild Baby Shower. The event, which will take place on April 12, 2025, is a free community event, open to the public, and promises to be an enjoyable day for all the family. The event will feature a range of activities, including:
• A meet-and-greet with Porky, the center’s ambassador porcupine
• Educational presentations about wildlife care and rehabilitation
• Fun wildlife-themed games and activities
• A raffle for prizes
